How this works, and how it makes money.
You should be able to understand exactly how The Maybelle Edit earns without ever wondering whether it changed a verdict. That is the whole standard, and this page is where it is written down.
Editorial policy
Every product written about on The Maybelle Edit has been used personally. Firsthand experience is the minimum standard for publication, and nothing is reviewed from a press release, a sample sent to someone else or a trend cycle.
Products are tested long enough to have a real verdict. For most things that means several weeks. For skincare and treatments it means longer, and the tested duration is printed on every review so you can judge for yourself whether it was long enough.
Approval is a standard, not a favour. A product earns a spot when it would be repurchased with my own money. Approval can also be removed later if something stops earning its place, and when that happens the review says so.
Skips are published alongside approvals. A publication that only ever likes things is an advertisement.
Before anything goes live it has to pass the same test: is it firsthand, is it specific, is it useful, is it honest about tradeoffs, and would I buy it again. If any answer is no, it gets revised or it does not run.
Affiliate disclosure
The Maybelle Edit earns money through affiliate links. If you buy something after clicking a link here, I may receive a commission from the retailer. It costs you nothing extra and it does not change the price you pay.
Commission never determines whether a product earns approval, where it ranks in an edit, or what a review says. Retailers are chosen for price, availability and reader convenience, not for the highest rate.
Some of those retailers run formal programmes with their own required wording. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Where a link goes to a programme like LTK or ShopMy, the same rule applies: the commission is theirs to pay and mine to disclose, and neither one touches the verdict.
The bag on this site is a shortlist, not a shop. Nothing is sold here and no payment is ever taken here. Saving something puts it on a list for you, and buying it happens at the retailer, under their prices, their delivery and their returns policy.
Where a product was gifted rather than bought, the review says so on the page. Where a placement was paid for, the review says that too, in plain language, near the top rather than buried at the bottom. Paid placement still has to pass the same editorial test, and plenty of paid opportunities are declined because the product does not.
Privacy
This site collects as little as possible. Visitor numbers come from Vercel Analytics, which is cookieless and does not fingerprint or identify you. It records which pages are read and which links are clicked, not who you are.
If advertising is running, this site also loads the Meta Pixel, which does set cookies and does report back to Meta so that ads can be measured and shown again to people who have visited. It is named separately here because it works differently from the rest.
You can refuse both. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, no analytics event is recorded and the Meta Pixel is never loaded at all, rather than loaded and asked to behave. That choice is honoured automatically, with nothing to click.
If you send an inquiry through a form, the details you type are used to reply to you and nothing else. They are not sold, rented or added to a marketing list without you asking.
If you subscribe to the newsletter you can unsubscribe from any email in one click, and your address is never shared with a third party. Addresses are stored with Supabase and emails are sent with Resend.
Four companies process data on this site's behalf, and each publishes its own policy: Vercel hosts the site and provides analytics, Supabase stores newsletter addresses, Resend sends the emails, and Meta receives pixel data when advertising is running. No other third party receives anything.
To see what is held about you, correct it, or have it deleted, email inquire@champagnecontentcaptures.com and it will be handled within thirty days. You do not need to give a reason and nothing changes about how the site treats you afterwards.
This site is not directed at children under thirteen and does not knowingly collect anything from them.
Terms of use
Everything published here is one person's opinion based on personal use. It is not professional, medical, dermatological or financial advice. Skin, hair, bodies and budgets differ, so read the skip if section and use your own judgement.
Prices and availability change constantly and are set by the retailer, not by this site. Price bands shown here are indicative at the time of writing.
The writing, photography and the approval mark on this site belong to The Maybelle Edit and may not be reproduced without permission.
Accessibility
This site is built to meet WCAG 2.1 AA. Text meets contrast minimums, every image carries descriptive alternative text, headings follow a logical order, and everything interactive can be reached and operated with a keyboard.
Animation is subtle and respects the reduced motion setting on your device. Video never autoplays with sound.
If you hit something that does not work for you, please email me and I will fix it. Accessibility problems are treated as bugs, not requests.
